John Mark Ainsley, one of Britain’s most prolific tenors, enjoys an extensive international career working with the most prestigious orchestras and has an enviable discography covering the baroque and classical repertoire.  A highly gifted performer on the opera stage, he has received critical acclaim for several major roles throughout Europe.  John Mark won the coveted Royal Philharmonic Society Singer Award in 2007.

Accompanied by Roger Vignoles, John Mark Ainsley will première the Hugo songs commissioned from Thierry Escaich in the Mourant Ozannes Hugo Recital on Thursday 23 September 2010 at St James Concert Hall at 8.00pm, in a beautiful programme of songs by Fauré, Saint-Saens, Bizet, Poulenc and Hahn.
